PREVIEW: September 10, 2011 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Penn State Nittany Lions Old rivalries will generate a great deal of fan excitement when the Alabama Crimson Tide meets the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium, 3:30 PM , Sept. 10, 2011. Last season, Penn State was trounced by the Tide losing 24-3 on an incredibly hot and humid night in Tuscaloosa. The four turnovers along with a nonexistent red zone offense spelled doom for the Lions who, although moving the ball well, couldn't seem to tally any points. Penn State will make it much more competitive this season due to its home-field advantage. The atmosphere in the stadium should be something quite special with a sellout crowd expected and two teams of national interest that should attract a large viewing for this non-conference game. Alabama has some challenges the seizing needing to replace its top quarterback along with a Heisman-winning running back. It also needs to replace a top wide receiver as well as a top defensive lineman from its 2010 roster that tallied a 10-3 season following up a national championship in 2009. There are some notable players returning including linebacker Dont'A Hightower, who finished second last season with tackles and RB Trent Richardson, who scored six TDs rushing for 2700 yards carrying the ball with just 112 touches. This just may turn out to be one of those games people will be talking about for years after you watch Alabama vs Penn State online even though the Tide leads the series 14-5.
